I was first introduced to it by an old friend, who claimed that they had some of the best ceviche he had ever tasted. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first—after all, it’s called China Hut. But then, I learned about the deep history of Chinese immigration to Peru and how their influence on Peruvian cuisine gave rise to the culinary fusion known as "Chifa Peruano." That context changed everything for me, and my appreciation for China Hut only grew from there. My introduction to ceviche happened right here at China Hut, and it was love at first bite. Since that moment, I've been hooked. The ceviche mixto, or mixed ceviche, is hands down some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. It's fresh, flavorful, and has a perfect balance of tanginess and spice that keeps me coming back for more. Even though the original owners aren't around day-to-day as much anymore, the quality has remained consistent. The restaurant is quite a drive from where I live now, but whenever I'm in the area, I make it a point to stop by. Aside from the ceviche, the lomo saltado is phenomenal. It’s one of those dishes you can’t help but crave after you’ve had it. The flavors of the stir-fried beef, onions, tomatoes, and crispy fries meld together beautifully, creating a truly satisfying dish. Though I usually opt for takeout, I’ve had the pleasure of dining in a few times. The service has always been great—attentive and friendly. I tried a new food today, MUSHROOMS! I was worried i would end up like mario but nah, i loved mushrooms.
